If you are one of the
thousands of people whose head constantly chatters, then you are not
alone. It happens to me all the time, less now that I have learned
to embrace the positive aspects of my day, but it still happens.
You know the chatter I'm talking about, the kind where you are going through your day and each situation you encounter your head says, “What if this and what if that?” or “If only I would have done this, then that wouldn't have happened.” You may even succumb to the famous, “What am I going to do if blah, blah, blah happens.” I've said it before and I will say it again...dwell in the past and you live in depression, worry about the future and you live in anxiety. The illusion of control is what brings us to that point. We think we can go through our day and control the people and situations in our environment, but we can't. We need to let go. We need to let things happen as they are meant to happen. Be grateful and thankful. When you are thankful for the beautiful and wonderful things, opportunities and experiences in your life, you beget more wonderful things, opportunities and experiences. Live in the moment. Smell the clean, fresh air and feel the breeze on your skin or the warmth of the sun. Listen to the sounds of nature in the babbling brook and the rustling of the trees. Feel the joy in the beauty of a sunset. Enjoy new experiences without guilt or judgment. Just let go and live it. The possibilities are endless.
Sometimes we feel stuck with the choices we have made that brought us to the point we are at now, but you can move forward and you CAN make choices that will make you happy, no matter the path you take to get there. It can be a long path sometimes, but well worth the journey. Life is too short to live it feeling stuck and smothered and compromised because of choices we made in the past. Again, no judgments about it are necessary, only affirmative action. Love yourself enough to allow yourself to let joy in and move onto the path of getting everything turned around to the place you want it to be, that you want to live in.
I write this post with the hope that it will help anyone and everyone learn to let go, but I also direct it to my friend Jackie, who is currently worried about what is yet to be. To her I say you cannot control the future, but what is coming up for you is very good and positive and mind-blowingly awesome...stay worry free, bask in the joy of the experience and know that the BEST is yet to be.
Thank you for taking the time to stop and visit and please, if you like what you've read, leave a comment. If you have a blog or website of your own I would love to visit it. After your comment, make sure to post your link and I will stop by and leave a comment as well. Happy blogging.
